My family and I moved to Omaha and into LD8 just before school started in August, 2000.  Our son John attended Central High School, graduating in 2004.  We have lived at 4015 Izard in the Walnut Hill neighborhood, in a brightly colored Queen Ann Painted Lady cottage, ever since we came to Omaha.

I worked for a number of years at the University of Nebraska Medical Center;  then, in 2005, I began working in Risk Management at First National Bank in downtown Omaha.  I have been active in my church, in parent activities related to our children’s schools and activities, in my neighborhood (Walnut Hill), and in the wider community.

My wife, Dr. Pamela Owens, and I have been married for 36 years.  Besides John, Pamela and I also have two grown children, Joe and Johanna, both of whom are married and live in Chicago.  We have one granddaughter, Annabelle Simone Owens, born October 31, 2008.  My love and concern for Annabelle’s long-term future in Nebraska were major factors in my deciding to run for the Legislature.  We look forward to introducing all of you, our neighbors, to our whole family.
