Putting Taxpayers First in Planning for the Future.
I’m not a professional politician! In fact, I think we already have plenty of career elected officials and I have no plans to be one after I finish serving you in Lincoln. I entered this race for my neighbors, for people like you. And I entered this race thinking about my granddaughter Annabelle. She needs a state to grow up in that will be ready for her when she needs it, a state that is planning for her generation. We don’t have long range planning in our state government. Too often our state government just seems to plan for the next crisis, the next two-year budget, or the next election. That’s not enough. We need planning that ensures a bright future for all our children and our grandchildren. That is an important part of why I want to go to Lincoln to represent you: to make long-range state planning a reality for Nebraska.
New and Better Jobs.
Our best chance to make sure Nebraska leads the nation in its economic recovery is to have economic development that creates new and better jobs in Nebraska. We need to promote small businesses that will fill the empty storefronts in our neighborhood business districts like the one in downtown Benson in our district.
Education that Keeps Nebraska Competitive
Nebraskans are known for our work ethic. But we must always recognize the economic development contribution made by excellence in education. All Nebraskans, of all ages, benefit from quality in our classrooms from early childhood through high school, as well as in our excellent universities, community colleges, and skilled trade programs.
Improving State Government
We need to continue to ensure our government operates efficiently and with transparency. I will fight for Omaha and for the citizens of District 8, to make sure our taxpayers start getting a more fair and equitable return on the dollars we send to Lincoln.
I am not a professional politician and I won’t act like one in Lincoln. I am a neighbor you can trust, and I ask for your vote.
